smdpp: add es2p interface + tests

This adds the es2p interface, integrated with es9p,
with some würgarounds to make the test mode work.
It comes with a few basic tests to ensure it does
not immediately break.

This required some minor refactoring because
the single file grew too large and linter and
type checker kept complaining.
